The Valley of Columbus Scottish Rite Foundation makes Scottish Rite values (Reverence for God, Devotion to Country, Integrity, Justice, Tolerance, and Service to Humanity) concrete in the community at large.
It is an arm of the Valley of Columbus registered with the IRS as a tax-exempt (501(c)(3)) public charity.
The Foundation’s top priority is helping young people understand and value the ideals of the Declaration of Independence and Constitution – liberty, mutual respect, equal opportunity, and the rule of law. This project is named after Ben Franklin because he exemplified Masonic values and played a key role in our nation’s founding.
The Constitutional Convention, held in Philadelphia from May to September 1787, was rife with drama, contention, and uncertainty. After it concluded, an interested citizen asked a weary Franklin about the outcome. His famous reply is found nearby.
The effort to keep the Republic from tyranny on one hand, and chaos on the other, continues today. To this end, the Foundation partners with the Ashbrook Center of Ashland University.
Ashbrook provides historically accurate materials for civics courses and brings students and teachers to Ashland over the summer for intensive study. They use original source documents so participants “learn from the words of those who lived and wrote our history….and discover for themselves the truth of the American story”. The Foundation is also is seeking other like-minded partners.
The Scottish Rite Foundation helps instill America’s best ideals in young people who are its future leaders. You can support this important work with a tax-deductible donation to the Foundation (cash, check, credit card, IRA rollover, insurance benefits, marketable stock, a trust, or bequest in your will).
Donations may be sent to the Scottish Rite Foundation 290 Cramer Creek Ct. Dublin, OH 43017. For more information, please contact the Valley office at 614-766-2272.
